What's the voting all about?
Voting is a way of filtering the better stories. Users should vote on a story they like this way they get ranked higher.
It's also useful to find friends who has similar interests, if you like a story you can see who else voted for it and chances are you might be interested in other stories they voted for.
What's the difference between “Hot News” & “Upcoming News”?
When users submit a story it's automatically published under upcoming news. To get on the Hot News page stories have to have a certain amount of votes. At time of launch it's only 5 votes.
If the story is particularly important admin can manually move it.
What about Headline and Featured articles?
These appear at the top of the hot page. They are manually added by admin. Usually a good/important article with a photo.
